Hadaa ka naadzet: The Dane-zaa Moose Hunt (2004)

Collaborative multimedia web exhibit created by Aboriginal youth from the Doig River First Nation and young multimedia professonals.

This exhibit was a training and capacity building initiative which was designed to engage youth with their cultural heritage and provide guided learning experiences for technical skills such as, digital archive use, ethnographic documentation and web site design.

Doig River youth choose content for the exhibition from the Dane-zaa Digital Archive, and created new content by drawing on their own knowledge about moose hunting and the knowledge of their elders.  Doig River youth were also trained in web design techniques, and together with their mentors, built and populated the website.

Funded by The Doig River First Nation and Canada’s Digital Collections.
